Fred GH-1188 LTF

Fred crossed over on August 1, 2022, 10 months after coming to GoldHeart as a Long Term Foster. His last chapter was hopefully his best.

This beautiful golden oldie was initially rescued by a West Virginia Rescue and is estimated to be 12+ years old. Just look at that face, how could GoldHeart refuse to help him? He was abandoned in a house in the Pittsburgh area for some time, made it to a foster home, and sadly, that person had a health crisis and he landed back with the shelter – no place for this sweet boy.

He has skin issues, is deaf, and has now been to the Vet and is being treated for various issues. He is enjoying a very soft landing in his GoldHeart foster home during the first week of October 2021, and his coat is coming back and he looks better with each passing day. He is happy to just lay in his bed or on the cool floor and enjoy his new family (2 and 4-legged).

Due to his age, ongoing health issues and incontinence; his foster home agreed to care for him and the Board voted to place him in Long Term Foster status for whatever time he has left. We are so glad he got to stay around for awhile to enjoy the life he so deserved in his awesome foster home.

Donations to support Fred’s care as part of our Long Term Foster Program were greatly appreciated. RIP Sweet Fred.
