Barley (Marshmallow) GH-1163 (FTA)

Woof! Woof! I LOVE MY FOREVER HOME!

Update Summer 2021 — Barley had his THR surgery – and successfully got through his long rehab under the loving care of his FTA home, and has also now recovered from his Neuter surgery – Yeah Barley! Next step — Adoption… Barley is now officially part of his new pack (Several 4-legged goldens and a few 2-legged humans too)…WHAT A GREAT WAY TO END THE SUMMER!  Congratulations Barley!

Update 12-20-2020. Marshmallow – now Barley – has moved to our Foster-to-Adopt program and will find his forever home with his foster home. He is over the moon!  Barley has seen Orthopedic Veterinary Specialists and will require a total hip replacement (THR) after reaching age one. Since arriving at GoldHeart and spending time with his foster family and fur-siblings, they fell hard for this super sweet boy. This includes a foster sister who he adores and previously had THR surgery, so she will show him the ropes. Not only is this an expensive surgery, it requires at least 3 months of rehabilitation protocols. GoldHeart is thrilled that Barley is in a home that is equipped to deal with the challenges of the THR surgery.

Back ground: 6-month old Marshmallow arrived at his GoldHeart foster home on November 8 , This sweet cream colored golden boy came to GoldHeart when his family (with young children) was no longer able to keep him due to an upcoming move. He gets along great with everyone he meets (humans and his foster siblings).

He is UTD on  routine vetting  and due to his young age; however, after learning of recent vetting for a leg sprain issue, GoldHeart vets confirmed he has severe hip dysplasia and needs a THR.  He also has unilateral cryptorchid that will be addressed during neuter surgery. GoldHeart will reimburse his forever home up to $100 towards the surgery cost.

GoldHeart will be supporting the cost of Barley’s THR, which will occur in several months (after adoption).  Any donations (large or small) to support this expensive surgery will be greatly appreciated.
