Sophie GH-812

Our beloved Sophie passed away this morning surrounded by her family – me, Henry and her sister Penny.  We adopted Sophie in May, 2013 from Goldheart Golden Retriever Rescue, after losing a Golden we had raised since birth.  It took all of five minutes on her home visit for Sophie to find her way into our hearts.

She was good-natured, playful and gave the very best hugs ever.  Her favorite thing to do was to ride in Henry’s Hot Rot truck.  Yes, it was HER Hot Rod!  You can see her sitting proudly in the front seat waiting for Henry to take her for a ride.  She had a wonderful summer going to car shows with Henry and showing off her truck!  I would receive all kinds of attitude if I dared to go out with Henry in  her Hot Rod!  She would just stick her nose out of the window and sit proudly, enjoying the ride.  What a character.

Unfortunately, her heart gave out at the tender age of ten, and she left us today, February 25, 2014,  for a better place.  We will be forever grateful to her foster Mom, Cheryl Zarin, and to Goldheart for giving us the opportunity to love Sophie.  Although our time with her was all too short, it was well worth every minute we got to spend with this amazing girl.  We love you Sophie always!
