Roameo’s Christmas Miracle!

On Thanksgiving Eve, an email arrives from a family interested in Roameo, who was our beloved GoldHeart foster boy for almost a year. Yes, 2014 definitely has been the year of Roam-eo, a scrawny stray from PA, with many behavioral, health (EPI, allergies and more) issues that were worked on throughout the year, and just recently his health issues were finally under control, and he had become a very happy and handsome boy!

Roameo’s new family had just lost one of their fur-ever kids and they wanted to give a forever home to another EPI – special needs golden. The email advised that they rescued many special needs GRDs over the past 10 years and through a web search found Roameo. They had been looking locally, but no such furry kids needed a forever home. With the OK from GoldHeart’s Board, an exception was approved to our normal geographical area, and the process started. Application, reference checks, and a home visit by a local rescue resulted, and within a few weeks, the adoption was a go and his new family wanted him by Christmas! Wish granted — we met half-way with Roameo’s foster siblings in tow.

What an inspiring and loving couple (aka Brian and Michelle of the Cleveland Ohio area), Reports back this week from his new family advise that Roameo is doing great. We love and miss you big-beautiful-boy! Be good to your awesome Fur-ever family!
