Lilac GH-1312

Meet Lilac, she is a young happy mixed golden on the small side that will always greet you with a smile and wagging tail. If you are looking for a new family member with a shy but happy personality, she could be the one.

Lilac came to her GoldHeart foster home in early August from a young Amish family where she was never bred, lived outside and was the pet for the two young children. Lilac was surrendered as the children lost interest. Lilac needs an owner that will continue to work with her to reach her full potential as a devoted companion in the process she will look for much petting for attention. We were told she is a golden-doodle mix, but as you can see, her coat and appearance is more golden.

Gender: Female (spayed)

Age: 3 (DOB 8/1/21)

Weight: 45 pounds. Lilac may appear underweight, but she has gained 3 lbs with her foster eating high protein food 2x a day for over a month, she just has a high burning metabolism.

Health: Lilac is in good health up to date on her vaccines and her monthly preventatives. She is heartworm/lyme negative and has beautiful white teeth.

Personality: Shy is timid and very gentle. She loves to rub up against your legs and get pets and rubs.

Favorite Toys/Games: Toys are new to Lilac.  She is enjoying some safe hard chew toys and still learning about dog toys including balls. She will chew up soft toys (she needs tough toys and safe balls).

Interaction with other dogs: Perfect no issues big or small, living with 2 Jack Russell’s and 1 large golden.

Interaction with cats:  No experience with cats.

Interaction with children: Came from a family with 2 children under 6.

Behavior in Car: Quiet – no issues but need to lift into car, not a jumper.

People Interactions – home requirements: No restrictions, known to sneak up on the spare bedroom bed for a quiet nap. A quiet home would be best as lots of noise or yelling Lilac will retreat to a safe corner. Lilac needs a home where she will be allowed to share locations with her humans and her fur family members, We have not cratered her but if away or many hours might suggest a crate. Always greatest you will a wagging tail and may stand up to you with most gentle paws. Will sit to be dried with the towel including her paws. Likes to sleep in foster mom’s office on a memory foam dog bed. Her Foster mom believes she has the potential to be a loving couch potato with you as she loves to be petted.

Training, Food and Treats: Eats a good quality kibble 2x a day, she is not picky. Not food aggressive. Comes when called and will sit. Will occasionally take a treat but not required for sit. She loves to be brushed.

Leash manners: Lilac is still new to a leash, does not pull but needs encouragement to walk forward on leash. Have used a martingale collar as well as a traditional harness.

Housetrained: Yes and will go to the door if she needs to go out. No house accidents.

Exercise Requirements: Lilac has whatever energy level you want.  Will get the zoomies like most dogs from time to time. Will occasionally retrieve the ball. Happy to walk all over the yard with you on clean-up day but just as content to sit in the office with her foster mom as she works.

Fence requirements: Lilac would like a physical fenced in yard, due to her limited socialization and potential to run off if frightened. She does come to you, when called in from outside.

Adoption fee: $500
