GoldHeart Expenses

Each year our expenses increase as veterinary care and supplies increase. When a dog is adopted, the amount we collect rarely covers the expenses incurred. Below includes typical vet services for dogs coming into the rescue; however, some dogs need more vet services, resulting in a higher average cost per dog. For example, the average cost per dog rescued in 2022 was $1,500. GoldHeart is a non-profit 501(c) 3 charitable organization that depends largely on the generosity of the people that choose to support our mission. 100% of the funds collected are used to benefit the dogs.

Typical Veterinary Care and Supply Expenses
Physical examination $65.00
Vaccinations $90.00
Heartworm/Lyme Disease Testing $75.00
Fecal Testing for worms $40.00
Spay/Neuter $500.00
CBC Bloodwork (if needed)* $200.00
Supplies (HW/Flea/Collar/Leash) $75.00

* CBC Bloodwork is conducted on the older dogs and those with suspect medical problems.
