Tucker GH-289

Our Tucker (2003 – 2016) Crossed The Rainbow Bridge Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2016.

Tucker came into our lives with his sister Tawny (GH-288) in May of 2011. They both turned 8 the next month. Originally, we were to foster them for a few weeks after picking them up in Orlando since we were taking a road trip up north to Pennsylvania. Once these two beauties walked into our home, we all knew they were meant for us. We always had Goldens and our house seemed alive again with Tucker & Tawny a part of the family. We cancelled the road trip! It’s the best decision we ever made!!

Sadly, we lost Tawny (our princess) in February of 2014 to Lymphoma. Sad day for sure. We were grieving, but so was Tucker. He was Tawny’s protector and he was lost without her. He actually wouldn’t eat breakfast or dinner without first making sure Tawny had hers! Imagine? There was a special bond with them. Always together, paws touching, always having to know where the other was.

Slowly, Tucker (sometimes we called him Mr. T) adjusted. We kept him busy with his favorite things…long walks, going to the Tampa Bay Park for hours, just sitting by the water & his basket full of toys (Nylabones were his favorite)!

Our house is again empty, our hearts are heavy, but we are so very grateful for having had both Tawny & Tucker in our lives.

I’ll close this with:  “Who’s the best boy? Tucker’s the best boy!”  (It’s what we said to him all the time!)

We’ll miss you always buddy!
