Buddy GH-1109

Meet Buddy — we estimate that he is about five years old and weighs 80 pounds. This handsome gentle boy has a beautiful reddish coat and loves everyone. At the Humane Society he was known as Big Red. His foster home reports he is a super sweet golden that loves exploring on his daily walks, playing with his squeaky ball, or just resting while watching birds and squirrels in his yard. He loves attention, likes humans around, and enjoys getting brushed. He does not have a lot of stamina due to a lack of exercise in his previous life, so his foster home is adding multiple exercise activities throughout the day.

Buddy was one of the Black Rock Kennel cruelty case survivors where 27 dogs were found dead on the property and the 27 that were alive were brought to the Humane Society of Carroll County for vetting and loving care with release to GoldHeart in early May to ensure his next chapter is the best ever.

Buddy should be able to start the search for a forever home in a few weeks after vetting is completed. Please check back periodically, watching to see when this post is updated to read “Looking for a Forever Home.” If you are a GoldHeart approved adopter, read the complete bio, and if your home sounds like it could be a good match for his needs, you can then email your interest to the contact email included in the post.

If you are not yet approved by Goldheart, and are in our SERVICE AREA, please complete an adoption application at https://goldheartorg/adopting-a-golden/adoption-application/. There is a $30 non-refundable application fee that must be received before the approval process starts. The approval process can take 4- 6 weeks since we rely on an all-volunteer support network to process your application, conduct the home visit, and check references. If approved, you can then inquire about Buddy if he is still available, and you can also inquire about any other available dog that is looking for a forever home. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

GOLDHEART thanks the Humane Society of Carroll County for trusting GoldHeart to care for Big Red – Buddy. The society accepts monetary donations online at https://hscarroll.org/donate/. This wonderful rescue organization also has an Amazon Wish List, where individuals can purchase items that can be used by the society to care for rescued animals.
